Andrea Wright
Andrea is a board-registered Clinical Psychologist who specializes in assessment and intervention for a range of presenting concerns affecting children, young people, and their families.
Andrea completed undergraduate and honors degrees in psychology at La Trobe University, followed by a Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) at the University of Melbourne. As part of her post-graduate studies, Andrea completed research into how visual processing may contribute to the social communication deficits seen in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her master’s research, completed in collaboration with Orygen Youth Heath, investigated the subjective experience of neurocognitive impairments in young people experiencing psychosis.
Andrea strives to always maintain a client-centered approach in her practice and believes that comprehensive assessment that considers multiple sources of information is essential to planning effective therapy. Andrea’s approach to therapy is grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy; however, she believes that flexibly applying a range of evidence-based strategies is often the best way to ensure highly individualized and effective care.
Andrea enjoys being a mother to two children and enjoys spending time at the beach with her family, cooking, reading, and going for walks with her Staffy, Lucy.
